Introducing: 'On The OTher Side'
We are more than raised toilet seats!
This blog and website has been created as a forum to showcase the work of Occupational Therapists in the acute medical setting. Frustrated with people’s misunderstanding of our role and inexorably proud of the work we do, I wanted an opportunity to show you 'The OTher Side' of the common misconception that we only provide simple pieces of equipment that can otherwise be purchased on the internet.
I am hugely passionate about working as an Occupational Therapist (OT) so here is a blog to promote our profession, change perceptions, encourage diversity, push the boundaries and ultimately show case the important and often undervalued work we do.

Home: Welcome

I have worked in the NHS for 12 years and been qualified as an OT for 9. I have been fortunate to work in many different settings, but always within the NHS; either acute hospital or rehabilitation setting. This blog was motivated by pride, first and foremost, for my profession and the wonderful colleagues and patients I have worked with.
